I have had repeated problems with the seat on my 2006 Adventure. There are two fiberglass battens sewn into the backrest. Unfortunately, the stitching on the ends has come unravelled and the battens have worked their way out. It has happened twice on the top and once on the bottom.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Is there something I can do to prevent it?

How do you repair it once it has happened? (I am not a very good seamstress)

While the dealer has been willing to cover it under warranty, I am without a seat for a few weeks, and my 1 year warranty will expire shortly and I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks,
Randy

There was a batch of seats built improperly from one of our vendors and they have all been replaced under warranty. Just get a new one at your dealer, that should solve the problem...not sure why you're without a seat for three weeks since we ship same day the claim comes in. Have your dealer just make a claim with Hobie Cat direct.

Thank you Jacques for your prompt reply. I will inquire again with my dealer. Unfortunately after trying for several days to reach the "Hobie Guy", I haven't been able to get any indication of when it will be taken care of. He is a great guy, but he is difficult to track down.

On a related note...
Since my wife's boat is one serial number from mine, it seems possible her seat may be from the same batch. Her seat has not yet failed, however, she uses her boat much less than I do, so now I worry that her seat may also fail - most likely, after the warranty expires in early July. Is there anything that can be done IF this seat is from the same batch? Please let me know.

Thanks Again,
Randy
