Not meaning to bring up an old issue but I recently (about 5 days ago) upgraded to the turbo sails/masts. This morning I note the kayak to be sluggish and find there to be quite a bit of water in the hull.

A cursory inspection revealed that the forward notch in the drivewell has dimpled/holed and there is a 3-4 inch split on the seam of the drivewell on the port side.

I'm on the way to the dealer later and am not anticipating issues. Rather, my concern is my spousal unit has the same model albiet with the shorter turbo sails. Is she next or did I just get (un) lucky?

For info: CCMF5567B707.

Regards,
J.

Follow-up:

As anticipated there were no problems at the dealer (shameless plug for Tackle Shack in Pinellas Park Fl.), I was in and out with a new hull in about 15 minutes. Most of that was fishing talk.

It seems I had a bubble in the forward portion of the drivewell as a result of a molding problem. What I thought to be a crack was apparently router scoring.

Anyway, looks like I just happened to hit the lottery on this one.

Still a happy guy...

J.
