I own a Hobie Revolution 16 since 2015 or so. Since then I had a broken MD mast for 3 times. The first two I coul relate to collisions with unseen under water objects... And logically it twice was the fore mast that broke. But today during the second day of my annual kayak camping trip the aft mast broke with a cracking sound  . It broke exactly at the beginning of the threaded part so I have to repalce the mast and the sprocket. I can't imagine any cause for this event also because it is the rear mast which, in my opinion never gets hit by anything... So is there sombody with the same experienece and maybe some good advice to prevent repetition?

I bent a 2015 turbo mast; maybe the longer turbo masts have more spring in them. It could have been the rear, which separates in latter part of stroke. Maybe move up to turbo or breakaway?

I couldn't straighten mine, so ordered a replacement from ebay. To get the postage way down, I had the sender put it in a standard (priority mail?) box where to fit it had to go diagonal in two dimensions. This was quite mentally challenging for the seller :) Then my dealer straightened mine anyway.

Thanks for your reaction. I bought the boat with turbo fins. So I think there is no reliëf there.
