So we took our second revo out today with the first and brought the dogs. One sat pretty well in the back but the other kept fallign off. Lots of fun trying to lift a 60# dog back into the yak in open water.

Both wear their life jackets (nice handle on the back for grabbing them)

What methods have you found that makes yak'ing with the dogs easier or training tips for teaching them to hang in the back of the yak?

Was thinking of getting some of the kitchen counter non'skid to help them not slip in the back (and protect it from their nails)

Was the dog falling off or bailing out? I imagine the kayak does not feel super stable to a dog. 60# is pretty big to remove the front hatch and let him ride in there. Probably on the right track with giving him something to grab on to like carpet or something. Might try getting your yak in shallow water putting him on it to get him used to it. Have him lay down in the tank well if he will fit while you hang on to the yak hoding it steady for him. It is amazing what dogs can learn to do.
