I have one of the last two US built H-18's sold. It is a Hobie 18 SE I got it in Late September of 2003 and it is serial numbered as a 2004. I think the hulls were actually laid up sometime prior to that, but Matt Miller would be the one that would probably KNOW when they may have been constructed.
Sometime in 2004 there were 3 Hobie 18 SE's made in AUS for the last Hobie 18 Worlds that started in December of 2004. Two of those boats ended up here in the USA. Jim Sohn, the Hobie dealer in DesMoines, IA bought both of them and still sails one of them. I'm not sure what has happened to the other one.
As Matt Bounds noted, there is a limited run of 10 sets of new hulls being laid up in AUS, and those should be on the way here very shortly.
Those 10 sets of hulls were pre-ordered and prepaid for and are being sold as hulls only, not complete boats.
