Overhaul, what am I missing?

Bought a 1981 H18 last year and decided to replace the rigging. Trying to prevent catastrophic failures, mainly the mast falling down. Hulls feel very solid and I don't see any problems. Ordered almost everything from Murrays.

-new shrouds, shroud stay adjusters, and twist toggles.
-new anchor pins and anchor bars.
-new forestay and bridle wires.
-new roller furler yoke assembly
-upgraded from 2 rivet mast step casting to the new 4 rivet casting and new mast base hinge.
-previous owner installed anchor plates for the shrouds (but not front or rear crossbars, murrays says they are trying to manufacture more)
-new shackle.
-new 5" mast bolt for diamond wires and rotation bar.

What else am I missing that could prevent a mast failure?
A few items I've been thinking about but decided not to get:
-new bow tangs, bow tang plate casting, or the bolts?
-bolts to secure the crossbars to the hulls?
-roller furler jib halyard block?
-diamond wires or turnbuckles?
-mast tang?
-anything on the spreaders?
-do 40 year old clevis pins need to be replaced?

It sounds like you hit the big replacement items in the first list, and should be OK. The number one cause of losing the mast is bent shroud anchor pins. Check the diamond wires for rust. Check for loose rivets. Check the crossbar connection bolts are tight and not rusted. Bow tangs rarely fail on 18s.

Crossbar bolts are probably ok as is, just make sure you install them with anti-seize so the threads don’t gall.

Bow tangs, I agree they don’t need to be replaced unless there is obvious damage. They are over-built.

Diamond wires, just check for excessive rust as mentioned and also frayed strands. Otherwise they are probably fine.

Mast tang, inspect the hole where the the shroud/forestay shackle connects. They have a tendency to wear. Not a common failure point, but if there’s a lot of wear, you could consider replacing.

Clevis pins should be hardened stainless. Just check them. If they have significant grooves, then replace. Otherwise if there’s no wear, then they should be fine.

Those all look good on my boat with the exception of the mast tang. Definitely some decent wear from the shackle. I was worried about the bow tangs and i'm glad to hear those are usually solid. Murrays told me they are trying to manufacture more anchor plate kits so if they do I will reinforce the front crossbar. Thanks @Skipshot and @SRM !
