Ok, taking the tabs off is the only way to go, and thats easy, a 9/16 wrench for the bottom and a 9/16 socket for the top, remove the tab from the bolt, and then reassemble and tighten with some good german torque, yanno, "gutentight" if you hear fiberglass crunching, you are overtightening it.
