I own an 86 Hobie 18. The material color of my main sail from the top down to the 7th batten is light blue. Between the 7th and 8th battens it is yellow, orange and red in descending order. Between the 8th and 9th it is magenta, dark blue and turquoise, again in descending order. Finally the bottom panel between the 9th and the 10th battens is dark blue. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what the Hobie company name for this sail color pattern is. Thanks, Bob.

I'm not 100% sure, but it may be a "Blue Hawaiian"

There are those on here that will know for sure.

Mat Bounds published a chart of all the sails and names in one of the past issues of the Hobie Hotline, but I cannot find it right now.

you're description matches #97 Blue Prism

per the Zen Master (MBounds) with a few exceptions Hobie 14 and 18 sails are very similar.

Thanks for all your replies. The one that looks similar is the 1987 Blue Prism #97. The only difference is that the stripe colors are reversed. I don't know if they made them both ways, it's a printing error in the magazine or they sewed my stripes backwards. Thanks again, Bob.

It wasn't a printing error. It was a brain error after looking at a couple hundred sail patterns.

This is the correct Blue Prism:
