line saver material

anyone found some sort of netting or mesh to use in the lacing for the "line saver"? the best i can find is ping pong table net, but this takes more than one piece to make length. it is not quite wide enough on the rear lacing for me.

I always see line savers on Ebay. Here is one.

On the 17, I use two pieces of pool noodle tied to the rear lacing. It's better to have something that actually is above the surface of the tramp since usually the line washes over the rear crossbar, not through the lacing. In the center, I use a piece of vinyl siding cut into a strip and slid between the tramp lacings to stop the line from falling through.

On the 18, my crew is the line saver.

Shade Cloth, available at any Garden Centre.
(Probably 80 or 85 or 90%, which is thicker, and provides more shade.)
Measure, cut, sew, and tuck it in between the lines that lace up the tramp.
You're done.
You're also dryer....

I bought a set of the tramp fillers from that ebay link. for the price the material is heavy and the edges are all seamed. They work great on my boat. Of course its only after I purchased did they offer it in blue to match my tramp.

the thing about using pipe foam is they are shot by season's end from UV exposure, but they are cheap. the pool noodle is a good idea, I'd like to find a smaller diameter though.

I saw a guy at our lake using gutter guard netting woven through the tramp lacing to save his sheets. cheap and dirty, but it seemed to be working for him....
..I have my tramp double laced with 3/8 bungee, and have no trouble with my sheets going down throught the tramp, but I lost it out the rear maybe 15 times on Labor Day in Lake Erie.....
..I really like the pool noodle idea on this thread....gotta try that one...I agree, mostly the sheets wash right out the back when you are driving through the big stuff. I have been scratching my head trying to figure out how to have something sticking up there that wouldn't interfere with the other operations going on back there or limit my ability to cross over the rear bar.......Noodle sounds like just the thing.....Thank you, srm.
