I have made a decision to part out my hotrod 18 and convert it back to stock configuration. I will be giving the boat to my nephew.
I will be selling the entire spin system, mid-pole Tiger snuffer, all blocks(Harken), sheets and halyards, (2) spins(one new), and all the attachment points ( x bar mount and mast tang). Asking price is $2K
I will be selling the complete self-tacking jib system mounted to a crossbar, (2) jibs (one F18, other Whirlwind custom for H18), extra track, all lines, pulleys and cams. Asking price is $1500, car needs new bearings.
I will be selling my Whirlwind custom pentex squaretop and SX mast as well.
Asking price for the main is $1K and $300 for mast including standing rig. I also have a used Tiger main for $350.

Please contact me with any questions or offers ncmbm1 at gmail dot com
Thanks

The mast is straight. The tip works but isn't the prettiest, had a bob at some point that must have torn off and the repair sin't the best. Its plenty strong though as it held my spin with no problem The SX mast is a rare find and this one was in poor shape when I recieved it. The mast had been at the coast for some time and had sand inside it. There was significant corrosion at the rotator thru bolt that I did not trust, I put a lot of tension on the diamonds to prebend the mast. So, the mast has been internally sleeved to the seal above the bolt. The thru bolt and all rivets go thru this sleeve. The mast is also fitted with cams and exit blocks for 8:1 downhaul. I will be removing the spin tang and bail from the tip and will fill any holes left. Tip has the aluminum upper section but the plastic sail track could be replaced. The mast is currently in SC but will be brought to NC this month or next.
Thanks

I will list these items on the beach cats and catsailor next week if not spoken for by then. Make an offer if my asking prices are too high! This a great opportunity to upgrade your H18 without having to figure it out yourself, everything is properly modified to work with the H18 platform.

The main would definately fit your SX. My boat has a self tacking jib system so the jib would not fit properly. I will ship anywhere at your expense. I have a paypal account to accept payment. You could purchase the self tacking system as well and then the jib would work on your boat.

I will go $2750 for the main, (2) jibs and the self tacking system. Let me be sure you know what all you will be getting.
Main sail - this is a contender pentax main, squaretop design, RBG tuned battens, and sail bag. This is the only fully optimized Whirlwind squaretop in existence. I had the loft recut it to balance the top and get all the power out of it. It has new tell-tales properly placed on the sail, This sail is fast and powerful. Only a year old with little use and excellent shape.
Jibs - one is a white Hobie factory tiger jib, it is in great shape but wasn't a proper fit for the H18. The other jib is brand new, sailed once, matches the main and is high quality dimension dacron. Dacron will furl better than pentax. This jib is fully optimized for the boat and really felt great, looks awesome.
Self-tacker- this unit is all aluminum, came off a new I-20. It was originally designed for a flat x-bar, I have customized it to fit the H18 curved x-bar. All lines for the system are dyneema and the halyards are robline. You will get all the blocks, pulleys and cams to operate it properly. I can send the entire x-bar with the system already attached or detach it. The x-bar it is mounted to is trash if the system is removed due to the number of holes that would be left. The traveler car needs to have the bearings replaced, a kit is available from Harken. All blocks, pulleys, etc are Harken.
I can send you pics if you wish, there are many pics on this site if you search my posts as well. I no longer have able crew and the boat is too much for me alone, otherwise I would hang on to these hotrod items. This set-up on an SX platform is a portsmouth sleeper, you can't be beat in open class unless you screw up.

Thats OK. I did price incorrectly $2250 for main and jib system. I pulled the spin price in with the main, my mistake. I don't need to sell this stuff but it will go unused if I don't.

If you are interested make an offer! I may trade the spin system to Genmar Star in return for some repair work.

Just had an email bounce back. It's Wally the main and matching jib I'm after. Not the furling kit and I presume my bat terns would pretty much fit to save postage
If you have a picture of the main you could email me [email protected]
