Took my H18 out Saturday and everything went smooth from set up to tear down! I gave up my Nacra for a much older $800 H18 and I have 0 regrets besides not doing it sooner I had a great day nothing broke I did not have to work on my boat on the beach and its washed in my garage and I can take it out next weekend without any repairs! I missed that its good to be back!!!
Also I have sailed on a few cats and the H18 has to have the best daggerboard system I have ever used the boards glide up and down with little effort and stay in place I am very pleased with my purchase!!

We Have the same Hobie Mine is also an 84 Coleman Cat. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed it so much. Does the gulf of Mexico stay warm during the winter. How is the wind in that area?

Some friends and I went sailing on a hobie 16 (have an 18 now) in the gulf last thanksgiving, wind was great, beach camping on the beaches of corpus christi was nice. I imagine temperatures remain warm through the winter as well (got up to mid 70's, lowest day temp for us was mid 50's because a storm came through)

Sorry I have been out of pocket for several days but the sailing is good till about Thanksgiving then you get warm days but they always seem to be during work hours and you cannot go. I think that was probably my last sail for the season unless the weather pattern changes compared to last year but so far it looks like we may get a touch of winter down here its in the 40's right now and dropping. As for wind its good almost all year there are a few weeks in the summer that its super light but sail worthy because the gulf is calm on most of those days so there is no surf to battle in light winds. Any idea why my photo would not work? I think it may be a problem with flicker?
