Third Hand for a Hobie 18 ? ? ?

I have one on my Hobie 16 but just wondered if anyone has come up with anything that works on a 1985 Hobie 18 with wings?

I found the boat well balanced w/little weather helm...so could let go for a few secs too...

Agree with the fact that a balanced 18 will just keep on going, especially, if the mains locked in the cam cleat and you've got the ratchets set on the jib sheet. I was trapped out off the wing soloing one day when I came off of one wave and plowed the leeward bow into the back side of the next one, the bungy on the trap wire snapped, the bow popped up and I was suddenly off in the water and being towed by the boat. It didn't go anywhere fast with me dragging behind, but it didn't stop either, till I pushed one of the rudders over and rounded 'er up.

Yeah it was funny, I was demo-ing to my wife that if I fell off (the boat, not the wind) or something the boat should/would round-up. Anyway, I put the tiller down, it was a fairly light day (not med or heavy, but not a drifter).... and the boat just kept going along... a few seconds she'd kind of 'tick' upwind a notch... sail... then turn a bit more... sail more... then a bit more upwind... all the while we're seated on the windward, kind of to the rear... so eventually it turned upwind enough and w/us seated back there she just tacked herself...and headed off again... Didn't exactly prove my point! Maybe I should rake a bit more.
