Well had quite the adventure today! Perfect day of sailing, all day winds about 15. About an hour before we get back to where we put in, wind picks up. .. Serious. I'm so glad I wasn't sailing solo. Had a great friend who taught me how to sail with me. I had the most fun and the most tense time out on the water today. We both are pretty conservative sailors, so we handled the big blow good, but my jib blew apart. I'm sure it was above 20 the last part of the day, weather said 24 when I just checked. I think we would both have liked the jib, as it was a bear to tack in that much wind with no jib. Some good lessons learned. I'm not a big fan of survival mode when your boat isn't tested, but I knew my sails were old. .. .

I will say trapping out on the wing is sweet, and I would think that is the only thing that kept us from taking a dip. And man I would not want to take a dip when the winds are blowin like crazy!

Anyone know of a cheap jib for sail. . . lol.
