Hi everyone. I raced my (new to me) H18 last weekend and used my 30 year old sails. Well as you can imagine, I didn't do great but at least I finished in the middle of the pack.

If you have race worthy, newer set of sails that you would sell a want-a-be up and coming H18 sailor, please let me know.

Affordable please as I am looking to replace many more items on this boat.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

The mainsail lasts alot longer then the jib .... and sometimes you can get by w/ a "tired" mainsail for awhile since it is a fully battened .... but a "new" jib makes a world of difference .... you may want to consider the option of just purchasing a "new" jib from the "Hobie" factory loft first .... a jib is not too expensive ... I haven't checked the prices lately but I think a new "class legal/factory" (white) jib is in the area of $500.00 .....

Just something to think about ....

What Harry said. Anecdotally, in my local racing fleet is a '78 18 with the original main and new jib that smokes us all. Much has to do with experience and tuning.

Thanks guys! I will look for a Jib and yes, I know I need to spend more time on the tramp!

I just want to make sure I bring the right tools to the table to be successful. :)
