Here are some of the 'changes' I've made.... to make it more 'paddle' and 'pup' friendly. First, I added 'Rail Tape' and paddle 'Edge Guards' to protect the side rails. Then I added some Bow and Stern 'pads' to help SHELA, my 'Rott-n-Dobie' roam the deck, and 'climb aboard'.Image

Here is the 'Stern Pad' and two black 'Boarding Pads'.... to make it easier for SHELA, to 'climb aboard'.Image

I also added a 'Paddle Caddy', to the steering column; to keep the paddle 'handy', out of the way (of my dog 'roaming' the deck), and easy to access. I used a large 'Pool Noodle' (with a paddle blade sized slit), bungee-ed to the steering column (to protect the deck), and Velcro strap to hold it in place, and allow easy withdrawal. Image

First time out with my "pup", she slid off the deck three times!

Like to do something like this on my board!

Thanks for posting!

RogWild,
LOVE your customization! Can you tell me where you got the padding and the edge guards? That looks exactly like what I need to add to my Eclipse.
Thank you!

Amazon and Ebay; "SUP pads", "Rail Tape", and "Paddle Guards", got two different types of pads, Silver (with the diamond design), like on the Eclipse, and the Black (with 'stripes') for the 'rear boarding' portion. For the Paddle Guards, you can also go to an Auto Supply store and get a roll of 'Trim Guard' (used for door edges). A few dabs of 'super glue' in the groove, and some electrical tape around the ends (at the top of the blade).... and you will protect the board from 'dings' when using a paddle.
