Has anyone had the problem with their drive pedals being a bit loose laterally? Over time, mine tend to wiggle a bit to the point where the grey hard plastic stems sometimes click against each other, and the pedals can slip off the mirage drive when it isn't being straight.
I took to my authorized Hobie dealer who hadn't seen the problem before and didn't have any tightening or adjusting to fix it. Anyone here or at Hobie that could potentially help?

Thank you

Is the pedal hinge mount to the board loose? Or is the hinge pivot area worn out so it needs new pedals or hinges?

I don't think mine move much side to side. Tightening the screws should fix the hinge moving around if it is just loose from the board. If the inserts are loose, a surf board shop should be able to epoxy them back in with foam safe epoxy.

Mine is about 5 years old with hundreds of miles on it. There is absolutely no lateral movement of the pedals. The wear marks from the mirage drive on the underside of the pedals are the exact width of the rollers on the drive and dead straight, ie, no indication of any lateral movement. It sounds like you have a problem that may be serious, as in, broken pedals or broken, loose, or missing hardware. I would not ride my board in that condition. Or at least have a paddle with you! I would be very unhappy with an "authorized" Hobie dealer who would send you away in that condition with no clue what to do next. If you are not the sort to fix it yourself, try somewhere else!
