Just picked up a new 2021 Compass with MD180. It has what appears to be new style rod holders compared to earlier Compass's. These new ones are black, inserted into the existing rod holder molded hole and mounted with 3 screws. Similar to after market rod holders. And, there are 2 new scupper holes in front of the seat. Curious as to why the changes were made. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks
David
P.S.
Just removed one of the rod holders and discovered all the plastic from the original molded rod holder had been cut away to facilitate installation of the new one. I'm confused? Should I return this Compass to the dealer?
P.S.S
Warranty does not cover any "damage caused by alterations or modifications." Yikes!!!

Late 2021 and then 2022 Compass is coming with the new rod holders that fasten on. The hull is molded and then a hole is cut for the rod holder. Molded-in rod holders are problematic for us, so the decision was made to use the new holders on this model for better consistency.

Not sure about new scupper holes. Possibly a change to stiffen the floor.
