I have life jackets but that is about it......anything else I need to keep myself legal in Florida? Boat isnt registered/titled to me either.....am I asking for trouble?

The best people to ask would be the Florida DMV and Sheriff - straight to the horse's mouth.

I believe you do need a whistle. There is a good web site that spells out exactly what you need. I think if you google Florida Fish and Wildlife you'll find it.
