I am in need of a jib and ran across a 3 year old one and was wondering if it would work on my 1989 Hobie 16. The ad said "New style cut" and I wasn't sure if it would work or not.

Yes, it will work just fine, although if you don't have a lot of mast rake, you should use the bottom hole in the jib's clew plate to attach the sheets.
