I will be buying a new Hobie 16 in June. My last boat was a red/white/blue model from 1975. Any thoughtful tips or advice? I live in Atlanta and will be getting quotes from shops nearby (Georgia and Florida).

You may want to call around to see if any dealers have a new left over. I call mine an 11-08 because she spent 3 seasons on a trailer at the dealer, her only sight of water was rain. Just took her out Sat for the first time and yesterday for the second. It's great to have a new boat, she's a 32 year upgrade for me and I got her for under $6,000
