I've been sailing off the beach along the Jersey coast for 39 years. I've been beaching it exactly as MBounds described for a long time. If you follow his advice, your boat will love you. :D

Today I was bringing the 16 in after a day of sailing in light wind. A storm was rolling in and I was 25 feet off the rip-rap next to the boat ramp when we took a gust that must have been blowing 40 or so. The boat launched forward as i had the main in tight and cleated (ya i know ) anyways we flew a hull up onto the rip-rap far enough that the boat was 6ft from the waters edge and were promptly blown over. The wind was blowing so hard we had trouble just holding the boat down. The boat held up very well. Just a few nasty scratches and broken tiller extension.
