I had assumed that when intending to sail aggressively, you set the jib travelers as tigh against the mast as the track allows. Is that true-and if so, what's the thinking behind the 'fastest' setting for the jib traveler?

When sailing upwind have the jib travelers all the way in.

When sailing downwind, have them all the way out.
