Anybody launched their 16 off of the Dana Point Harbor launch ramp? Was it a pretty easy thing to do? How was retrieving your cat? And, of course, how was the sailing? Thanks!

Dana Point ramp is do-able. We used to do an annual regatta there. I recall the sailing being pretty good too. This is strictly a ramp and dock situation.

I bumped this one back up to the top of the list to ask an additional question regarding ramp launching in general  ; Do I need a trailer winch, probably mounted down low on my mast support, to retrieve the boat from the water after sailing :?:. Or, is it pretty easy to push/pull the boat from the water sufficiently up onto the trailer to get it tied off in order to drive it away to down-rig it :?:. My wife and I've done enough beach launchings and retrievals to know how to manuver the boat around and get it off and onto the trailer, but I don't want to get in over my head at a busy ramp  .

I'm not assuming any huge incline at the ramp (super low tide, or anything like that  ). But, it'll probably be just me and my wife pulling it out of the water at Dana Point. I also wondered if using a snatch block and tackle attached to the mast support would be a good idea in lieu of a real trailer winch  . Any more ideas or comments :?:.

Thanks a lot 8)
