I've found a 2010 hobie 16 (used in saltwarer), PO2 rudders with covers, double trap lines, telescoping hiking stick, neoprene side rails, wind vane, righting line, etc. Clean title. It comes with a holsclaw custom catamaran trailer, working lights, spare tire.

They're asking $6,500. I've only bought and owned much older hobie cats so I'm not sure if this is a good deal or not. Any help is appreciated!!

It certainly sounds like a reasonable asking price, but there are a lot of factors when considering a used boat. A 2010 boat would more or less have all of the same design upgrades as a brand new boat, and new boats retail for just under $12k (not including trailer), so it could be a decent deal. But you really need to factor in the condition of the boat. Was it garage kept and only sailed two times a year? Or was it stored on the beach for 7 months of the year, exposed to sun and weather? Or somewhere in between? What is the condition of the main parts - sails, hulls, frame, rigging, trailer? What parts need replacing, if any? Lastly, what is the used market like in your area? Decent used newer boats are generally tough to come by, so that could work in the seller’s favor.

If you have the cash ... Get it ... The new boat will be a real treat...
It will Still be worth 5,000 years from now if you keep it in good shape...

Sounds like a pretty fair price. If possible, see it in person. I know from experience that things can look good in pictures only to turn out looking like junk. I once drove 4 hours to look at a Hobie 14, looked great in pictures, but once I saw it in person not so much. I passed on it and found a sweet looking Hobie 16 a few months later. Good luck.
