Seeing the other recent thread about righting, I also wanted to get some feedback on a situation that I had last weekend.
After capsizing, the wife and I had difficulty pointing the boat into the wind. The wind was 15-20 and the boat would not point into the wind (while on it's side). The bottom of the tramp was facing into the wind and the sail was in the water on the leeward side. The wind kept pushing against the tramp every time we tried to point the bow into the wind. After 20 exhausting minutes of swimming around and trying to get the bow into the wind, the wind slacked enough for us to get it around.
Anyway, I was wondering if there was some technique for getting the bow into the wind during those type of wind conditions or if we're just weak swimmers. Thanks for the help.
