Thanks for all the input guys! It sounds like I am not as bad off as I thought. As for the the main sheet cleat attacted to the tramp frame that is not normal? What would be the purpose for it there? Is it good or bad?

there is supposed to be a cleat there, just the way your is attached is not normal. maybe try a google image search to find a pic of one.
