Jib traveler car blocks

Is there a way to replace just the pulley in the block? Mine are falling apart and I don't want to spend the money to replace them till I decide what I want to upgrade on the system.

are you talking about the Seaway kind that are on the stand up spring?

Yes they are

The old seaways can be had for about $10 each used.

On those old cars, we drill out the rivet that holds the old sheave. Then we replace it with a Harken 160 ball bearing sheave. We use a 1/4" diameter clevis pin and lock ring or cotter pin to hold it in.

Works good.

Is there any way to replace the sheave at the base of the mast for the jib halyard? I don't think I have ever seen an older boat where this one is not crumbling.

It just so happens that you can do it the same way with the same harken 160 and a 1/4" clevis. thats what I did to mine it worked fine. You will have to remove the rivets but you will have to do that even if you buy a new one the harken is much better
