You have quite a few considerations beyond wires...
Max mast rake is primarily limited by the mainsheet system on the boat. You can only rake as far aft as to be able to sheet the main still. A 71 would have a 5:1 system with a stacked block on the traveler car. The max rake would be more if using 6:1 with triple sheave ratchet and boom blocks. More still if you go to smaller sheaves.
The mast step casting and base are limiters.
An old main may limit rake as well (stretched).
Move the jib higher in the bridle adjuster.
Rudder rake can be adjusted by re-drilling the blades. I have a FAQ on that:
