as far as the front crossbar on the getaway is concerned, isn't that for a forward trampoline?
There is no...let repeat, NO extra tension on the bows if there were any additional stresses the bridle wires would go slack.
the front of the net isn't tensioned until the the boat is fully rigged. you adjust the front tension with a line that runs through the shackle where the bridle meets the chain plate.

You wont see the bridals go slack because the weight of the mast will always put tension on the rig and bridals. you are however pulling the bows inward and changing your rig back.

i tie the outer rope on the net to the chainplate. so midway between the bows a versatackle knot is tied from chainpplate to the nets centerline to tension the net. take up to much on the versatacke and the net begins to do the bridle wires' job. it looks like an upside down Y with the wires slack above the net "legs". Effectively, with that much tension, I've extended the forestay by way of the versatackle, trust me i've seen it first hand...i do it almost 3 times a week. The net NEVER requires that much tension! and if you put that excessive tension on the versatackle the bridle wires DO go slack. (I've sailed my friend's boat without the bridle wires this way. not advised)

put simply you're wrong
