Rear Traveller Car

This summer while sailing I broke the rear traveller car on my hobie 16. Its about 30 years old maybe 33 I do not know for sure as I am 22 and my parents bought it. Do I have to find a car that is the same year or can I buy a brand new one? Also how do I actually replace it?

Call a dealer and or review the parts diagrams. The car is replaceable... no problem.

the entire traveler cart you need is most likely part #105 $76.65 , the lower roller unit can be replaced its part #106 $47.25

Both items should be regular dealer stock items. As long as they've gotten some back in from the Labor day holiday which always puts a strain on H16 parts!

Does a rivet in the track have to be removed on the end to change the car?

I saw one video online where a guy had the car out - and it seemed to SNAP into the track - as if it pops out of the track by pushing a release button on the bottom? (mine doesn't seem to have this release that the one in the video had)
was it another brand boat?

You do have to remove a rivet or two from the end of the track to slide the old car out and new one in.

There is no Hobie (USA) made traveler car that "clicks-in". Hobie Cat Europe made something like that back in the mid 90's... wasn't a good car though.

The rivets are included in both kits I do believe.
