Hello - I'm considering the purchase of a used 16, but owner doesn't know how old it is, but he sent serial #.
But when I look at the Hobie serial # web site mentioned in these forums, the number he sent doesn't seem to fit the pattern ... the # is ccmp9323m81h

Any experts out there willing to give it a shot?

Thanks

The last two or three digits indicate year. In this case the year would be 81 - 1981.

Made in the 8th production month (March) of the 1981 model year.

Much obliged ... 28 years old then ... anything I should inspect it for, besides the usual?
This would be the heavier hull, correct?
