My stuff came - I like the 39.95 buffer from harbor freight.

we had a freak 70 degree day yesterday here (strange for nov.) and I tried barkeeps friend and the buffer.

didn't take much work and the front 3 ft are like new. I found the power (bar keepers friend is just a scouring powder) like comet or Ajax? It's hard to keep wet while working. I tried some water from a spray bottle. IT worked, but I wasn't real happy with how it worked... I used some car wax on the buffer pad (as something to hold the bar keepers friend) and keep it moist that worked okay... but then I figured why not just use the rubbing compound. It has the grit and the moisture. SO I'll probably go that route next spring when I really make work of it.

I had muddy yellow stains from our lake (BAD) and they cleaned off and the shine came back nicely.

I notice in the pics above - you pulled the stripes... I was thinking i should do that too. (how did you heat gun?)

I use acatone and a razor blade to take the stripes off. You are going to see the orgional color without sun fading underneath the stripes, this will fade as the rest of the hull oxidizes.

Hey Rojoyinc,

I used the 3M super duty rubbing compound, i got 1 quart of it and it will be enought to do the entire boat 2 times... i used it pretty generously too... it was like 20.00 online... so look around...

as for the stripes... they were tough... i used my wifes blow dryer becuase i did not want it to get to hot and burn the gelcoat... i used that... and there was one line that got really tough to take off, so i actually used a razer blade... be careful though... i got the sticker all nice and warm for 1-2 min before attempting anythign... then it came off nice...

to clean up all the sticker goo, i used goof gone and a terry cloth...

once i used the blow dryer and the razor blade i could have been done with the whole boat in about 2 hours...

I plan to put new stickers on in the future becuase you can see where they old ones were becuase of the fading... from 5 feet away you can't see it... but up close you can and it bothers me,,..,. haha i'm anal... sorry i'm planing on using 3 inch black striping....

if you want more pics i can send them via email... [email protected] send me an email if you would like some pics. i can't upload on here becuase i'm not that talented... haha
