Someone did a sloppy repair on the bottom of my hulls to protect it from sliding across the sand. I want to grind it down and reinforce with new 3" fiberglass tape but I dont know which resin would be the strongest and best for the repair. Any suggestions? Any links or how-tos? Thanks! Ill be heading to the store as soon as I get an answer and I will post pictures of my progress

Polyester resin, then gelcoat. Look up past articles in the Hobie Hotline by Rick Buchanan.

Really polyester? Ive been doing all kinds of research and it seems like epoxy is less brittle, stonger, etc etc?

Can I re-gelcoat the entire boat if I wanted?

Sure you could, it would be lots of work and elbow grease but it could be done. If the tops are ok I would leave then as its hard to sand in all the little holes in the texured top. Remember unlike mose paints that have some evaporation, the fiberglass work and the gell coat will add some weight.
