Mike,

We fly in 20 to 30 mile winds here often. Much of the sailability here has to do with the direction of the winds more than the speed. My sail does not reef so if it is really strong we like to two man it. If not then I do not tend to wind her up until it is humming, rather keep the main out further to spill of some power. I have not gone without the jib but you could easily enough. I would think with out the Jib you would do a lot morer stearing backwards to come about. My biggest problem in real heavy winds has been jibbing. If I am going to throw it over that is my best chance of doing it. Just get out there and go for it.

Last summer I flew the hull almost the entire width of the lake and was so enraptured with my run I ended stuffing the hull, or pearling in surfing terms!! It was worth it too!!!

If you are not on the edge of tipping you aint going fast enough!!
