I need to buy a new tramp for my 1972 H16 but I don't know what to go with. On eBay I found what looks to be good trampolines for around $300. I went to a website where they sell original Hobie tramps but they are $500+ dollars. Whats the main difference between Hobie tramps and Others?
HELP!
:D

In general, the Hobie mesh tramps are monofiliment with welded (heat fused) seams. Aftermarket mesh tramps are a woven material usually with stitched seams. Hobie tramps (mesh or vinyl) seem to last forever. Just figure out how long you are going to keep your boat.

I have an aftermarket mess tramp that has been on my boat for about 3 years. It still looks like it was brand new. It has held up great even with the stitched seems and it was a fraction of the cost.

5 bills is about right for the mesh tramps, but I think they are well worth it. They will outlast MOST aftermarket tramps. My boat had an original Hobie tramp that finally gave out last year. THATS 21 YEARS!!!! I bet MOST aftermarket tramps will not do that. I think the Hobie tramps are cheaper in the long run. If you plan on keeping the boat, its your best bet. IMHO
