I have come to realize that my main may not be going as far up as it needs to. The distance from the top stop on the halyard to the center of the shackle pin is approximately 19". What is the correct distance? The photo below is what tipped me off that my sail may not be all the way up compared to pictures of others I have seen on here. What do you think? It is an 88 with no comp tip.

For an all aluminum mast, the wire guide shows 15 5/8" from the CL of the shackle pin to the near side of the locking swedge.

Thanks for the info Matt. If I am reading your post correctly, it appears that I am 3 3/8" too long in that department. May be time for a visit to the new Mariner Sails in Dallas to check out the store and purchase a new main halyard. I have replaced all the other cables, might as well get that one.
