hey guys,

new one to the forum, i sail H16s out of Oman (in the middle east). We've got a fleet, in the club here, so thats where i started...and i love it!

im still a newbie to it....(6 months since i got me helms ticket) bt im still young...and got plenty to learn..

a quick question...how do u lot get out on the wire as helm? i find it a bit daunting....and get kinda worried abt it....is there a good way to do this?

plus how do i keep the boat from pitchpoling....we get some rough seas here, and its not fun to be on the wire, and have the boat pitchpole...hurts a lot too:S

ahh well see u lot around...take care

Welcome !

There was an excellent discussion on getting on the wire some time ago, check it out:

There is a lot of other stuff about pitchpoling too. Even some painful-to-watch video links. Try a Search (at the top of the page) for "Pitchpole" as a key word.

Get hurt? You betcha! My family has a saying "how do we know we've been sailing with Stephen if we don't come back hurt?!" Funny things happen at high speeds. Sail safely and have a good time but don't expect to come back unscathed

Are there other Hobies there too? Is there a fleet?
