That's BS and you know it Matt. How many boats have you owned that were all original? Both my H16's and the H14 came and left with different parts, and it was all for the better.
Actually, all the boats I've ever owned had all their original major parts. Including the 17, Tiger and 2 14s I bought used. They all left with some different minor parts (including a couple of new crossbars on the 17), but those were either upgrades or replacements that I made along the way.
The only mismatched parts most people could identify would be different hull numbers or sails that are obviously older than the boat. Only geeks like me can date things like rudder castings and crossbars, and even then it's not exact.
