Matt Bounds is right!

I remember my first regatta when I went out, sailing in 'C' fleet with a total of about 3 hours experience on the boat. Much less knowing the rules. As said above, people who knew what they were doing went a long way to help me out, and still do. You will learn the rules as you sail and race more. I think most would agree the number one rule anyways is to just have fun!

Little Wing, Are you causing trouble again?
I like the name Sgt. Pepperoni BTW. Very clever.

Benny and Madge, it was fun racing on Sat (when I wasn't upside down) but me and the girls just couldn't camp after that day. It was 46f all day and I was cold as shi#!

I did think that was funny as hell to tack to A mark only what, 10 feet from shore??!

Madge, see you at Green Lake.
Ben, you'll need to get through nationals so you can get back on your own boat.
HobieAndy: Just How long have you been sailing anyway?
Littlewing: We'll have a rules quiz when we get to Angastora, so you better study!

A mark 10 ft from shore, what mark where you going to?You took off so fast Saturday I didn't get a chance to say thanks for that crossing.I don't know if you noticed but I went to hook up after tacking and I missed the hook and almost wound up in the lake.
That puff you went over on was one wierd puff we where gybing at the same time and the wind went pretty strange.
BTW Green Lake is going to be good, besides Wally coming, there is a band Sat.night.There is a good chance you will see a 25 boat 16 fleet.

Weird is right, got us fast. Plus we turtled and got mud on my pretty sail.
The turn from Port to STB on the A mark Layline was awfully close to shore, didn't you think? I swear we were like 10-15 off the beach when we turned one time.
No sweat on the passing, I saw you hit the water and wasn't about to make you dip us. You daughter already looked shell shocked enough!

10-15 ft I think you over stood :).You missed an interesting situation on Sunday ,in race two we had a pretty good lead and ended up tacking to avoid a barge that was right at A mark .All good fun,you missed a good gathering on Sat. night and the racing was really close on Sunday, lots of lead changes.

Maybe next time. Too cold and wet to go camping in the rain and chill.

Cool; but I have forgotten all the rules I knew cause I don't points race, but if we have wind I'll be on the water.

Yes, you'll (LittleFoot) have to race for sure, since this is in your back yard and its the only Hobie event around, other than the Wave race they are doing up near Brookings.

BTW: I talked to my buddy and he said the SD Classic was really great. I wish I could have gone.

I already know what the back of tom & Stephen's boats look like.

It went well. It was a lot of fun. The race didnt go that great. I did get 3rd tho!.... out of 4th
I only raced one day. I really didnt quite understand anything that was happening the whole time to be completely honest. Litterally. No idea. I was just following the other boats. The A Fleet kept lapping me :(

That's pretty much how it was for eveyone of us when we started racing. If you had fun, then great....that's what it's all about! Learn as much as you can and maybe try crewing with a more experienced racer next time. Give it another try when you're ready!
