Steve - don't know if you'll get this but you don't have any other contact info.

Some local sailors are hitting Vancouver Lake this weekend (4/12) and the more the merrier!

Email [email protected] if you are interested.

Let's see, boat age or owner's age?

Well, this is my '76 H16 today after the winter non-sense:

I feel that my age decreases after every sortie, therefore an inverse relationship exists. Wait...should adults have this much fun?

Absolutely :D

My thanks to all the sailors far and near.

Black anodizing was offered as an option in the first "package boats" - Flamer, Orchid and Banana.
1975 was the year.

I'm not sure when it became "standard". Probably mid / late 80's. That's when production volume dropped dramatically and it became impractical to stock both sets of parts.

Colored hulls went out of production a little later. Reason? Sun fading. It doesn't take too much time in the sun for a colored boat to look like crap. Red / Orange is the worst, followed closely by green, then yellow and blue.

It's also less expensive to stock only one color of gel coat.

Every once in a while, Hobie will make a colored boat - the red H20 at the 94 Nationals was one and I've recently seen a yellow Tiger.
