What size are the rivets for the batten caps on the main? Can standard rivets be used here?

I replaced some recently. I think I used 5/32 diameter x 1/4 length aluminum. SS rivets tend to pull through the plastic before they pop or break off. I've also used #6 x 1/2" flat head brass screws with nuts. They work well for a quick repair on the beach. You don't need a rivet kit and you don't have to punch or drill out the old rivet. Great for sail plates too.
