I had the most incredible sail today.

The wind was steady at 8-10 with some great gusts. I've only been sailing a cat for a couple of months. I flew a hull 6-8 times and 3 times was on the brink of going over when I saved it.
Last week I bought a Magic Marine skipper's harness. Today before I went out, I played around with the harness and trap wire, but my boat is on the beach at a 30 degree angle, so everytime I went out, I just slid down the rail and off. As I sailed around I pretty much decided I had wasted my money, that there was no way I was going to be able to get out there. Later the wind died down by about half, and I said what the hell. I have been reading many posts about how to start out, and the best was "just let go and trust in the wire." I had a blast. Of course I haven't really been tested yet, but it was a great start.
I am so glad I found this group, because the information has been great and I don't have anyone around that is really in to sailing.
