Hello all, I have a home on the water and last summer I kept my hobie on the beach the entire summer (without beach wheels). I know it will wear down on the hulls quickly so I need to come up with a different plan. The options are to buy a lift for the dock or to build a floating dock and put rollers on it. Does anyone else keep their cats on floating docks? I am trying to figure out what size dock to go with if I go that route.- thanks

If you can get the boat to the water with wheels you may be better off, since rigging on a dock has the problem of losing pins/shackles/etc. in the drink. Also, you can take the wheels with you if you take the boat to a different lake.

If you do go for a dock, then try to get one with pilings because the loose rig on a Hobie is not good for mooring as waves rock the boat and put too much stress on all that hold up the mast. Search this forum for "mooring" for previous discussions.
