Hey there!

I was looking at new sales for my 16 and have a couple of questions:

1. I noticed, while looking at the Hobie Cat Europe Site, that their 2006 colors include the old Boomer pattern that was on early '80s boats. Will that be offered on Hobie Cat US boats as well?
2. Is there any different to the cut/design of the sails between HC USA and HC Europe? Being one design, I would guess not - but thought I would ask.
3. Are the Hobie Cat US sales for 2006 the same as for 2005?

btw...here is the link to the HC Europe sail colors if anyone is interested.

Thanks!

The Hobie USA 2006 selection are different from 2005. Hobie Cat Europe sails are not available in the US or in Hobie USA areas of sale. Sail cuts and dimensions are virtually the same. Some hardware features vary. The Euro sails are made in China. Hobie USA sails are made in Oceanside, California at the Hobie Cat USA Factory.

Thanks, Matt.

I saw the Misty sails have carried over, but didn't look closely at the others and the fact that the colors are similar between the Solana and Spirit threw me (looking closely, I see the difference in the pattern)

I have to say that while I really like the clean look of the Misty sails, the retro idea Hobie Europe is doing is a kind of a cool. I think it would be neat to resurrect some of those old sails like the Boomer (which I currently have), Tequila Sunrise, and Carumba and package them with a special retro graphic package

Thanks again for the update.

It is difficult to go retro. Hobie Cat USA buys cloth in the thousands of yards and has custom colors. That is why we mix and match from a pallet of colors for a few years before hanging the color pallet again.

I've repainted the hulls on my '82 Boomer and want to replace the striping which had long since been removed so nothing to use as a reference. I've seen some posts saying their striping is 1/4" for other paint schemes but I'm not sure if this is the case for the Boomer stripes, does anyone know how wide the stripes were for the Boomer? I'm guessing 1/4 each color and if I remember correctly, it was blue, purple, red and orange. Anyone know?
