Jib rigging

I have receintly lost one of the tell tales on my jib due to the forestay flopping against it when the jib is tight. is there a way to rig the forestay and the bridle so the jib pulls the slack out of the forestay when tight? By attaching the forestay to the end of the stay adjuster, the bridle to the middle of the stay adjuster close to the pinched section and then by attaching the jib to the single hole end of the stay adjuster and tightening of the jib it would lever the forestay tight and away from the jib. Does anyone see a reason not to do this?

Why not just take up the slack in the forestay by lowering the connection point on the forestay chainplate?

I know the problem ,rig as usual but take up the slack with a small bungee.

Little wing: A bungee is what I am using now to cure the problem, I just thought that there might be a better way.

there mite be a better way, this is the place we will find out. Does you little bungee bother you?

What I have seen done is to use two extenders (? don't know the right name) with the forestay fastened to the top one and the jib forestay fastened to the bottom one. A bungee is then used to pull the top one down similar to your diagram which tensions the loose forestay. I presume the bottom of the bungee is hooked to the top of the bridle clevis.
