I have an old ('75) Hobie 16 that was given to me. Pretty fair shape and I've done all of the repairs and upgrades, etc. that I can do. Able to sail but I want/need some work done that I am not comfortable attempting as it will involve drilling holes, etc. (need new traveller track, new mast base, and perhaps new mast step). The boat is at our house in Emerald Isle NC. Can anyone direct me to someone in the eastern NC area (Swansboror, Wilmington, Morehead/Beaufort, New Bern, or environs). I live in Raleigh so I could also bring it up there but preference is to find someonw on the coast.

Thanks

You can replace most of that stuff you are talking about on your own I would think. It is just a matter of drilling out rivits, measuring, and popping new rivits. I don't know of anyone in that particular area, but I do know some guys in Wrightsville beach that know their way around these boats. I have family in Emerald Isle and usually go there a few times over the summer. I'll be sure to post when I head over that way, maybe we can go for a sail. I've actually never taken my boat down there but I have heard good things given the way the isle is shaped in comparison to the water. I live just outside of Fayetteville BTW.
