Where i live the winds are light. Usually 5-10 ocassionally 10-15 on a good day. I want to put a spinaker or hooter on my boat but cannot afford it. I was thinking about maybe buying a roller furling h18 (or possibly bigger) jib sail and use it as an additional genoa-like headsail. Attatch a spin pole to the boat and have the two jibs rigged to the spin pole. I would use it in light winds and with both other sails (m/j) up.

Would i able to rig the boat like this for less than a spinaker
Would it be worth it (in terms of additional power)
Would it work (3 sails at once)

During this time of year, you'd be better off launching from Long Beach where the winds are closer to 15 - 25.
