My jib halyard is currently in the top hole of the forestay adjusting plate. (I have not been out yet this year). What changes depending on which hole you attach the jib tack to. And the same question for where the jib blocks attach to the clew of the sail. Mine has always been in the center hole. What does going up or down the holes change? Is there a desirable combination? I am working to get more rake than I had last year. Currently the side shrouds reach easily to the 2nd from the bottom hole in the shroud chain plate. Since I am not fully set up, I don't know if this will be too much or too little rake. I have a 87 with batten sail and old springy thingy travelers. As always I await your helpful insights.

If you aren't sailing on the edge, you're taking up too much room.
