Is it posable to turn your tramp so that the lacing would be at the bow of the boat? It would help keep the main sheet onboard. Has anyone done this?

It is possible, but very few people do it. Not sure why.

The easiest solution is 7/8" ID water pipe insulation installed across the aft end on the tramp with plastic zip ties...this will keep the sheets on board. Or, have your regular crew manage the main traveler, to let it down in puffs and such...they will have the other end of the main sheet and if it goes overboard they can retrieve it for you.

I'm not sure if this should really be done, but I had the tramp on my last 16 tight enough that there was no more than an inch at the center of the rear beam between the back piece and the two main center pieces of the tramp. There was actually some curve to the rear beam.

If your tramp is tensioned properly, there will be a curvature in the rear beam.
