I was taught to really reaf on the jib halyard when rigging, could this cause excess strain on the hulls via the bridle causing a compression delamination on the hull deck. I.E. Hobie soft spots.
Thanx,

Cause? Probably not.

Make worse? Almost certainly.

The soft spots that appear forward of the pylons are caused by 1) using that area of the boat as a step to get on / off and 2) it's the part of the boat that gets the most sun exposure.
